Everest Trekking

Mt: EverestThe Everest region is located in the north-east of Nepal and most visited part of the country by trekkers and mountaineers. Solukhumbu district of Nepal is home land of legendry Sherpa people and highest peak of the world, the Mt. Everest 8’848 meters. To the north of Solukhumbu is Everest national Park, while to the east is Makalu Barun National Park.This is an ultimate dream for all adventurous people to see Everest famous mountaineering region, unforgettable panoramic views and as well as  conserved vast bio-diversity. The major ethnic groups Sherpa in the Khumbu region and lower part has Rai, Tamang, Bramins, Chhertis ….. Animals can be sighted mountain goat, musk deer and barking deer in the forest and some different species of high mountain birds including Danfe snow pigeons.

The best time to visit this region is spring and autumn season of the year. There are several different trekking route and area for the different people’s interest short and month long trekking with passes among the many routes Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Vally and so on. Teahouse trekking is possible on the main traill the route of the Everest Base Camp or the route up to Gokyo vally and Cho-La pass.Those who wants go by trekking from Jiri to Lukla also has teahouse lodge on the way. Everest region can go by air or foot, if any one want go by foot buses leave from Kathmandu to Jiri  and it takes 10 hr.By air Kathmandu- Lukla it takes 35 minutes, which is served by few airlines with daily flight from Kathmandu.

This region does not required special permits for trekking or visit only National Park entry fees can be paid in Kathmandu National Park desk and as well as need TIMS card that arrange by company.

Things to Bring for Trekking

Rucksack, trekking boots, stick, water bottle, personal sleeping bag, sun glass, sun cap, sun cream, rain coat, down/Gore-Tex Jacket, thermal trousers, gloves, warm socks, shorts, sandles, T-shirts, pullover, flash light, personal toiletries, camera, binoculars, reading and writing materials, medicine recommended by your doctor.

National Park and Conversation Fee

Eight areas of Nepal have been designated National Parks. They are Langtang, Rara, Royal Chitwan, Sagarmatha (Everest), Shey Phoksondo, Khaptad, Bardia and Makalu Barun National Parks. Trekking in any of those National Park areas requires a park permit, which can be obtained at the national parks and conservation counter office on payment of NRs 1000 each. Similarly trekkers are required to pay NRs. 2000 for every trekker going to the Annapurna and Makalu region. This fee is utilized for environmental conservation and maintenance of the area.
