Ganesh Himal lies on the north west of Kathmandu. This region offers spectacular splendor views of mountains untouched natural bio-diversity and friendly wild inhabitants.

The Ganesh Himal is named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune.The Ganesh Range Peaks (Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV) stand out like crystal, which is the "Great Himalayan Chain" forming the skyline. This great Himalayan massif is contained between the valley of the Budhi Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi in the east, which becomes Trishuli Khola in the lower section.

In this remote tented camp trek can be observe the different ways of life, culture and come to contact with the rural people in the small village, passing through the dense forest and meadows. We cross through high Shing La Pass and Pangsang La Pass which offers an excellent view of the massif Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Annapurna. On the last day of the trip we take a bus ride back to Kathmandu or Pokhara or Chitwan from Dhading Bensi where we spend the final night of our trip.

Itinerary of Ganesh Himal

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Betrawati (5 hours bus drive). North of Kathmandu via Trishuli Bazar.

Day 02: Betrawati trek to Kispang (1600m.) 5 hours walk.

Day 03: Kispang trek to Thulo Chaur (2200m.) 5 hours walk.

Day 04: Thulo Chaur walk to Gonga (2900m.) 3-4 hours walk.

Day 05: Gonga trek to Rupchet (3635m.); this is the base camp of Shing La Top; 4 hours walk.

Day 06: Rupchet Shing La Top (4100m.) trek to Kharka (2500m.) approx 7 hours walk.

Day 07: Forest Camp trek to Pangsang-la Bangyang (4100m.) 6 hours walk.

Day 08: Pangsang-la trek to BangyangTipling (2000m)

Day 09: Tipling trek to Borang (1700m.)Approx 6 hours walk

Day 10: Borang trek to Jharlang (1700m.) 6 hours walk

Day 11: Jharlang trek to Kintang Phedi (800m.) approx 6 hours walk.

Day 12: Kintang Phedi trek to Jemrung (1800m.) Approx 7 hours walk

Day 13: Jemrung trek to Dhading Bensi (700m.)  Approx 4 hours walk

Day 14: Dhading bensi - bus drive back to Kathmandu or Pokhara or Chitwan (about 3-4 hours)

The above Package includes the following services:

  • 3-meals per day prepared by our experienced cook Camping gear (two-person tents, foam mattress, kitchen tent, dining tent and toilet tent)
